Protect Yourself From Internet Fraud Other websites like ours complaint that their users have been scammed! We want to prevent our users from falling victim to a scam. That is why
AuPair-Options.com highly warns you do not send cash, Checks, Western Union or MoneyGram payments in advance to anyone!
There are several scam schemes.
1. Host Families are scammed by people posing as an Au Pair or Nanny and requesting that Families send money via Western Union, MoneyGram or cash for airfare or other needs so that the candidate could meet the Host Family.
2. A person who is posing as a Host Family sends emails and bogus checks to Au Pairs and Nannies as supposed advance payments for au pair and nanny services, only to follow up with an email stating that his wife and daughter (or twin daughters in some cases) have died in a car accident and then he requests that you send him a new check as he no longer needs your services. His ploy is to send you a bogus check and then have you send him a good check or a payment by Western Union.
3. A person who is posing as a Host Family sends e-mails to Au Pairs forwarding them to his ticket agent:
"Contact the ticket agent and make enquiries about the tickets and work permit documents from your country to UK and gets back to me via email don't worry about any expenses that this might cost you i shall refund all expenses incured by you after you get here when i pick you up from the airport, i just want to be sure if you really want to work for me..."
You send money and never again hear from this person. And if you send the money, the travel agent may contact you and ask for additional payment claiming that the first ammount is insufficient.
4. Attention! This one is a brand new type of scam scheme!
A Host Family tells an Au Pair that will move to Au Pair's town. To guarantee the AuPair position, they suggest to send $100 to the Au Pair in advance if she/he opens a bank accout in a specific bank. Thus the Family appears to be a trustworthy and reliable one. But soon after, the Family contacts the AuPair again and begins asking money for different purposes regarding the AuPair placement.
5. Another scheme - a person contacts you directly by email, claiming he/she saw your profile on Aupair-Options website, but doesn't mention any information about his/her profile. In some emails they even include a phone number, usually in the UK. After you answer that email, the scammer sends another letter with some questions and pictures - nothing suspicious so far. After you have agreed to work, the scammer tells you that his or her lawyer (some of them pretend to be female) will send you a Letter of Invitation/Contract. Then, you will receive an email from the so called lawyer (who is the scammer again), with the letter of invitation attached, who tells you to scan and send a signed copy of that letter to the immigration services, a fake immigration services email address is included. If you send these papers, the so called immigration services (yet the scammer again) will ask you to pay a certain tax.
Be cautious! Schemes may be elaborate, involving supposed travel agents, professors, deans, parents and other false references. Do not let yourself be fooled.
If you have any additional information about other scam schemes, do not hesitate to inform us and we will make them public.

I know that all profiles on this website are being manually checked
by the website support team. But i tis possible that there are a few
profiles who spoil things for the rest of us. All au pair and nanny
matching websites occasionally get nannies and au pairs who are not
what they say they are. Here is some advice to help you avoid a
scam:
Do they ask you to send money, for visas or documents or air fares?
Do they ask you for strange information about yourself? For example:
personal details other than your name and address?
Do they fail to ask you the natural questions about you, that you
expect?
Do they ask a lot of questions about money?
Do they accept a job before they know much about you?
Do they fail to send many photos of themselves?
If you can answer “yes” to some of these questions, then the
nanny or au pair might not be genuine. Our best advice is to trust
your instincts. If you are worried, please write to
antiscam@aupair-options.com . Tell to AuPair-Options your membership
number, the membership number of the nanny or au pair, and the
reasons for your concern, and they will try to investigate for you.
Please remember, almost all the nannies and au pairs on this site
are genuinely looking for a job with a family like yours.

capitato e volevamo segnalarlo. Grazie comunque
Stefano e Claudia
